Karl Rove is spot on in his WSJ opinion column today. Obama and the Democrats in Congress are making the striking differences in principles between them and the Republicans clearly evident as they work feverishly to push through massive spending bills and other unpopular initiatives. They have managed to accomplish what Republicans could not in recent election cycles: Demonstrate the difference between GOP and DNC. Obama is now saying things which both he and the media pilloried McCain for saying a few months ago. He’s signing off on huge numbers of the earmarks he promised to fight. He’s growing the deficit at an unprecedented rate. Rove is making a similar point to what we discussed here.
